- Five Years Have Passed Since Then
- In 2019, I unexpectedly sang a Japanese song at a church gathering and created an unforgettable memory. I received a score of 90 and received unexpected praise. Even now, five years later, I can't forget that exciting experience.
I shared an episode about karaoke a while ago.
Since then, I haven't been to karaoke even once. This is because I only know Japanese songs, and I don't have anyone around me who can go with me and sing along. So, I've only been able to relieve my karaoke cravings through YouTube. It was especially comforting during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Having opened a new YouTube channel, I wanted to differentiate it from my main account. That's how I created this playlist. Whether it's English hymns translated into Japanese or this, I've poured my desire to become closer to Japan through music into this playlist. It's no exaggeration to say that I actually learned Japanese through Japanese songs.
Someone sang "American Pie" at the White House so amazingly that it made everyone's eyes widen, but unlike that person, I'm quite weak at English songs. My English is already rough, a sort of Gyeongsangdo-style Konglish, but when it comes to singing, I have absolutely no idea how to move my tongue to produce the sounds.
However, in the case of J-Pop, I've spent a lot of time listening to it and have watched countless cover videos. While humming along and singing along, I've become more accustomed to it than Korean songs. So I wanted to know exactly my singing style and repertoire, and this playlist was created to confirm that.
Hayashibara Megumi and YOASOBI songs are so difficult to sing along to, which is a bit disappointing, but everyone has different talents, and I'm not a professional cover YouTuber, so I'm not being overly ambitious. I'm going to continue to enjoy it casually as a hobby, taking care of my throat.
