I am visually impaired. I won't go into specifics about this, but the biggest issue is that my field of vision is narrower than others and I can't quickly catch moving objects. Therefore, I've already been deemed unfit to drive.
There are also inconveniences when watching TV or videos. If the screen changes quickly, I can't detect what just happened at all. Even on a still screen, if an object is small and not easily visible, I can't tell how it moved or behaved.
Therefore, I also try to avoid watching shorts and reels as much as possible. I remember that YouTube shorts can be paused when viewed on a computer, but on Facebook and Instagram reels, the screen switches so quickly within a second or two before I can even read the text, and it's been frustrating more than a few times.
And another annoying thing is, for example, let's say that food is listed with pictures and numbers from 1 to 9. They could just show it in a big, clear image, but they intentionally make it smaller and add noisy and uncomfortable music, which I really hate. I just skip those reels because the text is too small.
Moreover, as is the case with most things, there are also a lot of clickbait and fake news circulating... I've seen research results (?) that the brain is already damaged from being addicted to shorts or reels, so I don't know how fortunate I am that I am not addicted to them and distance myself from them due to my disability.
I will end today's post here. Actually, it was to test and write since I changed my keyboard. It was the one that came with this computer 6 years ago, and I used a Windows 7 Microsoft keyboard at home for 4 years, and it finally died today.
The typing is much smoother, but it's still early to fully adapt, so I'll have to write hard on Tistory and here for a while.
