It's a Relief

I still sometimes see them in my dreams. I was curious about how they were doing, and I'm so relieved to hear they're doing well somewhere in America. They knew me so well and gave me so much love – even telling me "Don't even think about coming back to Korea" when I decided to go to America. But because of 'that incident,' our relationship suddenly became awkward, and even though I want to contact them, I can't bring myself to do it. (It wasn't that the incident directly ruined our relationship, but rather my illness led me to think about our relationship in a strange way.) A few years ago, I was surprised to find a comment they left on Brunch, so I quickly made that post private, and yesterday I closed their Brunch account altogether. I've applied to be a writer here, and I'm waiting to hear back. There was a slight mistake in the application process, so I'm not expecting to pass on the first try. Still, durumis has some limitations, so if I fail, I'll keep reapplying until I succeed. I'll let you all know if I get accepted, so stay tuned!
