Specifying a Two-Staff Organ in MuseScore

Source: Wikimedia Commons

When professionally transcribing Baroque music, positive organs are sometimes used instead of harpsichords as accompanying instruments. In Finale, you can choose between a two-section or three-section organ, but MuseScore only allows for a three-section organ. Therefore, you must first select a piano and then change the two-staff parts for both hands to an organ sound. So, today, I will teach you the method I previously shared on Tistory.

Specifying a Two-Staff Organ in MuseScore

First, I created a new file designated as piano.

Right-click the very first measure you want to designate.

Click 'Replace Instrument...' in the indicated area.

Select "Organ" here.

Check that it has been changed to an organ and click OK.

Conveniently, even the staff names changed to "Organ." Until I wrote this post, I was worried about how to change these names one by one, so I'm relieved that it changed automatically.
