To be blunt, it's just a hobby. I have absolutely no intention of making a living from translation or interpretation. Furthermore, my current life in America is so stable and enjoyable that I don't have any desire to take a language proficiency test and study abroad.

However, I sometimes fantasize about starting a new life in another country, whether it's Japan, England, or Germany, experiencing new cultures and customs if only I were fluent in the language. But given that I need regular check-ups at the hospital, language would become the biggest obstacle if I lived somewhere else.

That's not all. When it comes to solving everyday problems, I feel most confident speaking English, aside from my native language. To be honest and a little embarrassing, my Japanese and German are practically useless in daily life, so I often rely on translation tools when interacting with foreigners online.

Today, once again, I realize that the glamorous image online isn't the whole picture. Comparing a short, enjoyable trip with the struggles of making a living in a foreign country is pointless and unrealistic. So, I ask myself, "Can you survive on your own?"

The only place I can confidently answer yes to that question is the United States. I am grateful and fortunate to be an American.

Of course, anything can happen, and according to God's will, this place might not be my home until the end of my days. Even if, guided by His will, I were to go to another country, I want to overcome the language barrier and adapt well to the new environment.

But for now, I need to face reality. I've already started down this path, so ignoring the nagging and noise from my father and others, I will seek God's wisdom and quietly walk my own path. Even though I'm not perfect now, I believe that through perseverance, I will eventually find enlightenment.
